Why does the disk status show as “Foreign”?
If the dynamic disk no longer needs to build an array, it is reasonable to use it for other purposes; for example, storing backup copies, etc. In this case, users transfer this disk to their local computer with the hope that there will be no pitfalls. But instead, the notification “Disk0 Dynamic Foreign” and “Disk1 Dynamic Foreign” appear. There may be times when this disk was previously connected to the system and everything was in order; however, if all dynamic disks are damaged, all characteristics and settings are erased and the disk becomes a dynamic foreign disk.
Also, quite often when connecting a dynamic disk to the system, incompatibility with the OS occurs or the user uses a dual boot. You should not forget about this either.
Solution for dynamic foreign disk problems
Since the disk configuration does not match the system configuration, it is logical to eliminate this problem. For a disk to be added to your computer’s system configuration, you need to import it. This is done by right-clicking on the disk and selecting the appropriate item. This action will give you the opportunity to access the dynamic disk without any problems.

Is the import of dynamic foreign disks harmful for data?
This procedure essentially does not affect the information stored on the disk in any way; all files must retain their integrity and be accessible. The exception is on Windows XP Home: in order for this system to accept a disk, you need to get rid of any information and convert the dynamic disk to a basic one. To do this, you must first delete all disk volumes individually, and then use the right mouse to select “Change to base disk”.
It should be noted that if you import foreign disks (namely two such disks), Windows can automatically recreate RAID 0. So this will be a kind of recreation of RAID.
